Cicek Cavdar, coordinator of the EIT ICT Labs project 5 Greeen - Toward Green 5GMobile Networks, a part of the Future Networking Solutions innovation area, is chairing the panel of the 2nd workshop onGreen 5G Mobile and Broadband Access Networks at the IEEE Globecom conference 2014 in Austin, Texas on December 12th.
"We are moving towards a networked society with unconstrained access to information and sharing of data available anywhere and anytime to anyone and anything.
One of the biggest challenges that the network access segment is facing is how to meet these future requirements and expectations in an affordable and sustainable way."
The goal of this workshop is to provide a holistic understanding of the green aspects of the network access segment as a whole (i.e., mobile plus fixed broadband). This will be achieved by bringing together experts from both academia and industry in the forefront of the energy efficient broadband access field.
