EIT Digital partners involved in the High Impact Initiative on Advanced Connectivity platform for vertical segments (HII-ACTIVE) meet at Milan Satellite on January 28 and 29 to discuss the project progress so far and to synchronise activities in 2016 ensuring the first market delivery by year end.

The HII ACTIVE project will focus on creating a connectivity platform where sensor networks are integrated into the general cellular network and by this create an end-to-end network for supporting different applications (verticals), such as healthcare and transport application segments. The goal of the project is that of creating a generic connectivity and middleware platform, including security to support application developers for different vertical segments without having to redo the whole network stack. This means that application developers can focus their efforts towards the application in the vertical segments.

HII ACTIVE, lead by Francesco Militano, is part of the EIT Digital action line for Future Networking Solutions.

At the meeting will participate EIT Digital partners involved in the project: Ericsson AB, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)Ericsson LMFSICS Swedish ICT ABAalto UniversityTampere University of TechnologyBittium WirelessEngineering Ingegneria Informatica SpAMilan Polytechnic.
