The Workshop will take place at Turin - Telecom Italia Labs (hosted by Trento Node) on 2nd and 3rd April 2012.

Background:

Since 2010 IET ICT Labs’ Experience and Living Labs catalyst is committed to build strong guidelines for the application of business models to Living Labs. In such framework, 2012 catalyst activities will offer to a close number of selected Living Labs from the KIC a support program for business models and access policies implementation in owned Labs. Program will consist of a first two-day’s coaching workshop, plus a follow-up support for Lab’s business model integration throughout the year.

Expected outcomes for participants:

The program is aimed at helping Living Labs practitioner and coordinators gain more insight into business models: what services should the labs offer? how to organize access to the lab? who pays for the services? what about sustainability?

Participants will:

  • gain initial ideas about and first steps towards a service-based business model for your lab
  • learn from other labs: how are other labs organized and exploited
  • get support after the workshop to refine your business model over the course of 2012

Methodology:

What we will offer is a personal advice on the business modelling of your lab using the STOF-approach. Such advice will help you to refine your ideas about the lab’s services, technology (infrastructure), organization and finance. To stimulate discussion, during the workshop we will also provide you with typical business models for experience and living labs. These typical models are drafted using the results of the workshop. After that, a follow up program will be defined.

Subscription info:

Access to both the workshop and the following support program will be guaranteed for free to a close number of participants belonging to the EIT ICT Labs institutions.
