The panel members have been confirmed for the third annual EIT Digital London event. Entitled "Scaleup Opportunities in Fintech - London and Beyond”, the event will take place on Monday, November 28 2016 at the Leadenhall Building, London and will also feature the finals of the Digital Finance category of EIT Digital's Challenge.

This year's EIT Digital London event will explore how 'scaleup' companies are driving Fintech innovations across the finance sector in London and internationally. The panel discussing and giving their insight on these issues will include:

  • Marcus Scott, COO at TheCityUK;
  • Hazel Moore, Co-Founder and Chairman of First Capital;
  • Andrei Kirilenko, Director of the Centre for Global Finance and Technology, Imperial College London,
  • Bharat Bhushan, Industry Technical Leader, IBM Banking and Financial Markets, and
  • Andra Sonea, Fellow at Anthemis Group

There will also be participation from the Mayor of London's office as part of the London is Open campaign.

A further highlight of the event will be the finals of the EIT Digital Challenge - Digital Finance category - showcasing eight of the best Digital Finance scaleups drawn from the UK and Europe.

Talking ahead of the event, EIT Digital's UK Director Dennis Moynihan, said:

"There is now arguably no sector more subject to disruptive innovation than financial services. Customer expectations are changing, powered by the take-up of revolutionary personal technology. Global financial infrastructure is ever-shifting and increasingly complex. These changes however are driving countless opportunities for eagle-eyed entrepreneurs. Some of these innovations will be game-changing - the trick now is to identify and seize these opportunities, and to profit from them.

"Our event will not only showcase some of the best digital finance startups as they vie for the top spot in our finals competition, our expert discussion panel will also explore how Fintech scaleups are impacting the industry, and what opportunities exist for both entrepreneurs and adopters in London and beyond. I'm really looking forward to what's promising to be a lively competition and an insightful discussion!”
