Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival will be held in Berlin on 20 March, 2017 at the Kulturbrauerei

The 2017 Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival will stimulate new business models by connecting the best of all interdisciplinary stakeholders. Startups from around the globe will work together with customers and investors to improve their products and kick-off new ideas.

EIT Digital is selected as one the seven accelerators on display at the Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival. Acceleration is a key aspect of EIT Digital's innovation strategy, and the organisation focuses on scaleups - startups after the product/market fit stage that are ready to scale commercially in Europe and beyond.

"The Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival offers us an excellent opportunity to present our <link accelerator>EIT Digital Accelerator scaleup program to these great scaleups helping to make global energy transition a success. The program offers them both Access-to-Market and Access-to-Finance support, which translates into fast-growing average revenues and average funds realised", Mr. Wolfgang Kniejski, the Head of EIT Digital's <link innovation-entrepreneurship digital-infrastructure>Digital Infrastructure Action Line's Business Community says.

Attacks against critical infrastructure like energy networks can have significant impact and cause material financial losses. A recent attack against electricity network, made Ukraine, has been estimated to cost 20 million Euros per hour as electricity shortages.

The Digital Infrastructure Action Line of EIT Digital works for developing secure, robust, responsive and intelligent communications and computation facilities also for utility networks. UK cybersecurity scaleup Origone, a member both of the EIT Digital Accelerator and Digital Infrastructure Action Line's Business Community, is looking for new access to market opportunities for its integrated cybersecurity platform protecting customer's entire IT asset at the EIT Digital booth.

Jonathan Partouche, Founder and President of Origone said:

"Origone has decided to participate at the Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival in Berlin following the recent rise of interest in Cyber Security from major entities across Germany. Origone intends to showcase its capabilities and bring home new customers from this dynamic event."

The Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival will be held in Berlin on Monday 20 March, 2017 at the Kulturbrauerei, from 9:00 to 18:00 hrs. The festival is organised annually by the German Energy Agency (dena).
