Trento Node is pleased to announce the first Winter Camp on Language and Data/Knowledge Technologies (LaDaKT). Launched by Trento RISE, the leading academic actor of Trento full node of EIT ICT Labs, the school will be a one-week event to be held in the premises of the CLC in Trento, Italy, from February 20-24, 2012.
The school offers various activities such as presentations, demos, introductory courses, laboratory tours, social events and discussions with current students and professors and aims at introducing the participants to the research and educational activities on Language and Data/Knowledge Technologies that take place within Trento RISE.
As both areas are enjoying an increasing interest in the scientific and industrial communities, the program includes presentations on future opportunities as well. The school is intended to encourage students to apply for a PhD in one of the two scientific fields.
LaDaKT will accept 15 participants. The participants will have to be eligible to apply for a PhD in March 2012. Applications from students of other EIT ICT Labs nodes is encouraged as some places will be reserved for them. Registration is free of charge and support for accommodation and travel expenses of a number of students is foreseen.
