Versailles, FRANCE - EIT Digital is thrilled to announce a strategic collaboration with the AI, Data and Robotics Association (ADRA), aimed at propelling Europe to the forefront of the global AI industry. EIT Digital is a Knowledge and Innovation Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
In a shared pursuit of innovation, EIT Digital and ADRA unite to foster a dynamic European ecosystem that endorses technology transfer and supports burgeoning EU startups, to develop a truly European AI Model built both on high-quality and globally competitive AI products and European values.
Leveraging the extensive networks of both organisations, which encompass industry leaders, academia, research institutes, as well as startups, scaleups and SMEs, the partnership is poised to amplify Europe's voice in the global AI conversation, offer expert input to decision-making at an EU level and boost European AI, Data and Robotics industries.
The collaboration, which has been formalised at the ADRA Forum in November 2023, will introduce a series of initiatives designed to catalyze the alliance's objectives. These include advocacy activities, especially regarding efforts to address European Generative AI foundation models, and enhanced membership benefits for both organisations, including, specialised webinars for ADRA and EIT Digital partners.
In addition, the partnership will leverage EIT Digital's educational capabilities to offer joint educational programmes and joint activities to address the AI, data and robotics talent shortage. Giving a voice to the European AI community, a white paper covering European AI regulation and startup needs will be presented to the European Commission, setting the stage for impactful policy development.
The collaboration will also include joint events in 2024, aimed at engaging stakeholders from the European Commission, Member States and partners of both ADRA and EIT Digital.
EIT Digital is excited to embark on this collaborative journey with ADRA and invites all ADRA and EIT Digital stakeholders to join in shaping a future where European digital innovation and AI excellence set a global standard.
"I am extremely happy and proud to announce the strategic partnership between EIT Digital and the AI, Data, and Robotics Association (ADRA), uniting two strong and complementary ecosystems. Together, we amplify our networks, create synergies with and for our members to forge a path towards a strong digital Europe which is inclusive, fair and sustainable. This collaboration is not just about integration and collaboration; it's about catalyzing a synergy and joining forces for the benefit of Europe!" Federico Menna, CEO of EIT Digital
"We are excited to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ADRA and EIT Digital. This partnership marks a significant step towards ADRA's vision of fostering a robust European ecosystem in AI, data, and robotics. By aligning with EIT Digital's successful programmes we will both deliver substantial value to our members and stakeholders. Together, we aim to build a cohesive and powerful stance on addressing the pressing societal and technological challenges that are critical to our collective future prosperity." Girardi Emanuela, President ADRA.
The AI, Data and Robotics Association (ADRA, asbl) was founded on May 21, 2021, by five European organisations: BDVA, CLAIRE, ELLIS, EurAI and euRobotics.
ADRAwas created as the private side of the European Partnership on AI, Data and Robotics, one of the European Partnerships in Cluster 4 (digital, industry, and space) in Horizon Europe. The Partnership was officially launched when ADRA signed an MoU with the European Commission on June 23, 2021.
The Partnership will boost new markets, applications and attract investment, to create technical, economic and societal value for business, citizens and the environment. To deliver the greatest benefit to Europe from AI, Data and Robotics, this Partnership will drive innovation, acceptance and uptake of these technologies.
ADRA is the European focal point for AI, Data and Robotics, and the entry point for organisations willing to collaborate and shape directly with the European Commission the direction these three domains of application will take.
