Applications are now open for the EIT Digital Summer School 2025, offering Master’s students, young professionals, and PhD candidates a transformative learning experience.
Participants can choose between 8 different programs taking place in Spain, Finland, France, Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Scotland. The intensive two-week programs combine technical expertise with business innovation training.
Those enrolled will work alongside students from the EIT Digital Master School, which includes 10 partner universities across 9 EU countries, all recognized leaders in technical innovation and entrepreneurship education, creating connections that often last well beyond the program itself.
“Our Summer School provides a unique platform where diverse talents converge to tackle real-world challenges and transform promising ideas into viable business solutions. We're not just training technical experts – we're cultivating the next generation of digital innovators who will shape Europe's technological future," says Federico Menna, CEO of EIT Digital.
For 2025, specialized tracks include Maritime Informatics & Robotics, exploring maritime technology advancements with participation in the IEEE Symposium; Digital Platforms for Smart Cities in Helsinki, focusing on platform economies at Aalto University; UPBEAT in Barcelona, driving Digital Wellbeing innovation through Design Thinking; Space Tech and AI in Italy, combining space technology with business innovation; Ljubljana Summer School addressing Digital Transformation through collaborative projects; and FinTech Frontier in Madrid, examining AI investment platforms, digital payments, blockchain applications, and financial cybersecurity.
What sets the EIT Digital Summer School apart is its focus on real-world applications. Participants work directly with business case studies that originate from the organization's extensive ecosystem of accelerators, startups, and industrial partners across Europe.
This hands-on approach ensures that students not only understand theoretical concepts but can apply them to solve actual business challenges facing today's digital economy.
"Participants learn how to develop different business models and are challenged by delivering their ideas," explains Sergio Balassone, Head of Unipreneurship at EIT Digital. “A pitch competition is organised at the end of each program. Winners willing to launch their startup will be considered for the EIT Digital Open Innovation Factory, providing a potential pathway from summer learning to real-world entrepreneurship.”
Besides, learning extends beyond formal sessions at the Summer School. Each program includes various team-building activities that help participants form lasting connections with like-minded individuals from around the world.
Activities vary by location and might include boat trips, adventure activities, sightseeing tours, and cultural experiences that enhance the overall learning journey.
EIT Digital has set the Summer School tuition fee at just €450, which includes the complete two-week course, weekday lunches, special occasion dinners, and all planned excursions and activities. Students from EIT Digital Partner Universities receive a special 30% discount, making the program exceptionally affordable for high-quality digital education and networking.
Some programs, like the popular “AI-driven Cybersecurity” course in Rennes and the “Digital Platforms” course in Helsinki, are already fully booked. Interested applicants should visit the EIT Digital Summer School website and apply early.
