Almost 190 applications for 4 regional editions resulting in signed contracts with 28 teams! That is the amazing result of the EIT Digital Venture Program 2019 evaluation and selection process.
Launched in March, this year's edition of the Venture Program supports entrepreneurial teams from 19 countries with deep tech business ideas to finalise their MVP and start their venture.With financial support of up to €15,000 and a six-week Pre-Acceleration Phase executed by four regional partners in Greece, Latvia, Portugal and Slovenia, EIT Digital helps entrepreneurs to launch new digital tech businesses.
The selected teams will go through an online pre-acceleration program that will last six weeks and is provided by our regional partners Startup Wise Guys, BGI, ABC Accelerator and Found.ation. During the coming weeks, the teams of entrepreneurs will attend initial boot camps in each region. Ljubljana was first out, with a camp organized by ABC Accelerator on May 23 & 24 (see the enclosed photos). Lisbon, organized by BGI, comes next on June 5 & 6. The final two will happen in Riga, organized by Startup Wise Guys on June 7 & 8, as well as in Athens, organized by Found.ation, on June 10 & 11.
The Venture Program's Growth Package support consists of €5,000 EUR and the pre-acceleration program, ending with a Pitch Day. The teams will be supported in their MVP development and starting a business. After completion of the program, they will incorporate and can apply for additional €10,000 support from EIT Digital.
