Enerbrain, an Italian scaleup who won the EIT Digital Challenge 2018 in the category Digital Industry and is now supported by the EIT Digital Accelerator, is living a magic moment. After winning the second edition of B Heros, a docu-series broadcast by SKY aimed at selecting the best startups and scaleups in Italy, the company has just announced the closing of a €2M financing round.
The funding was provided by a group of investors which include Controlli, Iren, GELLIFY and Boost Heroes. It will be used to boost the startup’s international growth and develop new patents in the energy efficiency sector. Part of the sum was bestowed as prize for winning the TV contest.
“We are very pleased to have industrial investors with a strong energy expertise on board,” Enerbrain CEO and co-founder Giuseppe Giordano says about the investment. “We feel that our energy saving technology is more and more appreciated, and we are receiving requests from all around the world.”
The Italian scaleup, founded in 2015 within the Innovative Enterprises Incubator Politecnico di Torino University (i3p), develops an IoT solution that measures comfort and air quality parameters – such as humidity, temperature, CO2 and pollutants - and optimizes them in real time.
In 2019, the Turin-based company closed several contracts, including one with IREN, one of Italy’s largest multiutility companies. Together with Enerbrain, IREN will transform 89 Turin City Council buildings into smarter buildings, reducing CO2 emission by 1,400 tonnes which is equivalent to adding 100,000 trees.
A big congrats to Enerbrain from the EIT Digital Accelerator team for such exciting achievements.
