Equity Portfolio and Investment Lead

EIT Digital is enhancing its equity and investment activities to support the sustainable growth of its portfolio of deep tech startups and scaleups. The Equity Portfolio and Investment Lead will play a crucial role in managing and expanding EIT Digital’s portfolio of startup investments, strengthening investor relations, and ensuring strategic alignment between portfolio companies and EIT Digital’s broader innovation activities.

• Manage and Valorize the EIT Digital Equity Portfolio: Oversee the investment portfolio, tracking performance, identify suitable EIT Digital startup and scaleup support programs for portfolio companies, and identifying opportunities for follow-on investments.
• Enhance Portfolio Company Success: Support EIT Digital equity portfolio startups and scaleups in achieving key growth milestones, including fundraising, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.
• Strengthen Investor and Funding Network: Develop and manage relationships with venture capital firms, LPs and LLPs, corporate investors, and public funding bodies to facilitate investment opportunities for EIT Digital portfolio companies.
• Align Equity Portfolio and Investment opportunities with EIT Digital Startup and Scaleup Programs: Work closely with the Startup and Scaleup Programs, Growth Services, Corporate Engagement and ecosystem teams to ensure startups and scaleups participates in EIT Digital initiatives (e.g. open innovation factory, cascade funding calls, etc…) and receive tailored support through EIT Digital startup and scaleup programs to maximize their potential and increase the quality of EIT Digital’s investment deal flow.
• Develop Exit Strategies and Portfolio Value Growth: Work in close contact with the CIO and the Head of Startup and Scaleup Programs to implement concrete activities to enhance the value of EIT Digital’s equity holdings through follow-on investments and facilitate successful exits through acquisitions, IPOs, or secondary sales.
• Operational Excellence in Equity Portfolio Management: Implement and maintain efficient processes to manage EIT Digital’s equity portfolio with accuracy and timeliness. Ensure that equity transfers are executed in alignment with program timelines, prioritizing high-potential and high-value startups. Continuously improve portfolio management tools and reporting to support data-driven decision-making and compliance.

• Increased Portfolio Value: Growth in the valuation and success of EIT Digital-backed startups and scaleups.
• Higher Investment Engagement: Increase in the number of funding rounds and investment amounts secured by portfolio companies.
• Stronger Investor Network: Expansion of partnerships with venture capitalists, corporate investors, and financial institutions.
• Successful Startup Exits: Growth in the number of portfolio companies achieving acquisitions, IPOs, or other liquidity events.
• Operational excellence: number of equity transfers of “promising” and “star” companies completed within 4 months from Share Transfer Agreement signature

Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.

Additional European languages (French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German, Finnish, Swedish, or Hungarian) are a plus.

Frequent travel between EIT Digital’s European offices and Brussels HQ, as well as external engagements with investors and corporate partners.

Preferably at EIT Digital HQ in Brussels.

Other EIT Digital locations may be considered, provided there is easy access to key European investment hubs.

Reports to EIT Digital Chief Innovation and Education Officer.
