How to participate?
You can participate by submitting a proposal for the delivery of a hybrid SPIN: Rise programme. Please read the SPIN: Rise 2025 document carefully for guidelines.
Who can participate in submitting a proposal to boost entrepreneurship and deep-tech education in Europe to the EIT Digital SPIN: Rise 2025?
EIT Digital is a partnership organisation. This implies that organisations owning the selected proposals are expected to be or become Partners of EIT Digital.
How can I submit a proposal if my organisation is already a Partner of the EIT Digital?
If your organisation is already a Partner of EIT Digital, please go directly to the EIT Digital Intranet page and its proposal submission system.
My organization is not an EIT Digital Partner, can I participate in a proposal?
Yes, you can. To submit an application, you are required to register on the intranet and complete your company information as if you were to become an official partner. However, this step does not formalize the partnership process, nor does it involve the payment of any fees at this stage.
The formalization of the partnership, including any fee requirements, will only take place if the proposal is selected.
What kind of Partnership models are there and how to initiate a Partner application?
Please see partnership models for more information about becoming an EIT Digital Partner and provide initial information via the questionnaire for new organisations. This will initiate the Partner application process and put you in contact with the relevant EIT Digital Node. You will receive a Partner ID required to register for access to the EIT Digital Intranet page and its proposal submission system.
What happens if the proposal is selected and we are not a Partner organization of the EIT Digital?
Organisations that are not formal Partners can apply to become EIT Digital Partners. If the proposal is selected, organisations must complete the partnership to be eligible to participate in the activity. Please note that Partnership decisions are pending approval of the relevant EIT Digital governance bodies. You can read about EIT Digital’s partnership model agreement at this link.
Is there a list of partners who are already working with EIT Digital?
The list of partners is available on the EIT Digital website, in the “Become a partner” section.
When is the Call open?
Call for proposals opening date: 14 February 2025.
Submission deadline: 15 April 2025 at 17:00 CET (hard deadline, no extension will be granted).
Who can submit the proposals?
The SPIN: Rise open call encourages proposal submission from innovation hubs, technology and science parks, venture builders and incubators with a focus on IP valorisation and early-stage ventures, industry associations with sector-specific networks, innovation teams within universities and research institutions with expertise in commercialisation, business schools specialising in entrepreneurial education, and technology transfer offices experienced in IP management.
What should the proposals present?
The proposals should present a 9-week hybrid programme for researchers, with a training and mentoring online component, followed by an in-person bootcamp. Proposals should define how they will support researchers with innovations at a low TRL in developing entrepreneurial skills and exploring the commercial potential and valorisation pathways for their Intellectual Property (IP).
What topic should the proposal be about?
Applicants should specify in their proposal one of the SPIN: Rise areas of interest, which they are looking to deliver the programme for. The fifth topic allows applicants to propose a sector of their choosing, in addition to the four already specified.
- Green Digital and Advanced Materials: For researchers who are applying digital technologies such as AI, ML and IoT, to transform energy systems, green chemistry, smart materials, and environmental engineering, with the aim of addressing climate challenges, enhancing resource efficiency and promoting a circular economy.
- Smart Manufacturing and Digital Factories: For researchers who are leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies— AI, robotics, IoT, digital twins, and advanced manufacturing—to drive the next generation of industrial innovation, enhancing automation, efficiency, and product customisation.
- Digital Health and AI-Driven Wellbeing: For researchers who are harnessing the transformative potential of AI, robotics, and IoT in healthcare and wellbeing, driving innovations that enhance patient care, diagnostics, and overall health management.
- Cyber-Resilient Societies and Trustworthy AI: For researchers who are developing cybersecurity, data privacy, and digital identity technologies to safeguard and transform digital ecosystems, ensuring trust and security for individuals and organizations.
- Other topic: For researchers working on disruptive solutions in other sectors, which are aligned with the EIT Digital Strategic Innovation Agenda, or are strategic for European digital sovereignty and strategic autonomy (e.g. Quantum, Space Tech,…).
